Full Saturday to Thursday Week
First-timers in Thailand complete the full Saturday to Thursday morning week. The 400 USD fee is paid on Sunday in cash in Thai baht calculated at 13,000 THB on that day. VIP van pickup from Bangkok Mo Chit 2 is included.
Direct Travel on Your Own
Teachers already in Thailand or switching locations travel by bus on their own directly to their assigned town or school. You do not join the Bangkok Mo Chit van, the hotel week, or the training timetable.
Bangkok Pickups & Mo Chit 2 Meeting
Saturday 10, 17, and 24 October 2026
Meet our team at Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal in Bangkok at 08:00 AM. VIP vans seat 12 to 15 teachers plus bags. Travel time to Sukhothai is about 7 hours, arriving Saturday evening.

First Pickup: Saturday 17 April 2027
For the May 2027 academic term start, the first Bangkok pickup is scheduled for Saturday 17 April 2027. It follows the exact same Saturday to Thursday structure.

What to Prepare Before Flying
1,500 to 2,000 USD
Bring accessible funds in cash or card for initial living costs and your permanent apartment deposit. Ensure cash bills are clean with no tears.
Bring Your Own Laptop
You must bring your own laptop for lesson preparation and worksheet design. Thai schools do not supply personal computers to foreign faculty.
Original Documents
Bring your original degree, transcripts, and police check. Do not laminate your degree. Authentication guidance is provided before departure.
TDAC & Messaging
Complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before your flight. We use WhatsApp for the van and the week, and Line after that.

Saturday: Bangkok Pickup & Arrival
Day 0VIP van pickup from Bangkok Mo Chit 2 terminal at 08:00 AM. Arrive at Sukhothai hotel on Saturday evening. Check in, receive your permanent 5G Thai SIM card, explore the local walking street and bars, and get a good night of sleep.
Sunday: Training Starts & Historical Park
Day 1Training begins. Review contracts, pay 13,000 THB orientation fee in cash, road safety briefing, basic conversational Thai, professional licence photos, and initial culture and teaching modules. In the late afternoon, tour Sukhothai Historical Park at sunset, followed by the market and dinner.
Monday & Tuesday: Core Teaching Modules
Days 2 & 3Complete the remaining training modules. Sunday to Tuesday covers the full core curriculum:
School hierarchy, Wai, dress code, and staffroom dynamics.
Active learning games, phonics, and AI worksheet creation.
Managing 30 to 40 students with your Thai co-teacher.
Wednesday: Real School Teaching Practice
Day 4Put your training into practice at a local school. Run activity stations, lead classroom games, receive feedback from KET trainers, get your orientation certificate, and celebrate at group dinner.
Thursday Morning: Checkout & Provincial Move-In
Day 5Hotel checkout in the morning. KET staff travel with you directly to your assigned province. Get your apartment keys, check utilities, have the landlord register your address (TM30) with our team present, and run an initial grocery shop.
📌 Your first class date after Thursday depends on your school opening schedule and visa run. It is not always the immediate next Monday.

First Payday, Pro-Rata & Financial Rules
📅 First Payday Rule
Salary is paid on the 10th of each month for days worked in the previous month (pro-rata in month 1):
- • Taught in October: First paycheck on 10 November for October days worked.
- • Did not teach until November: First paycheck on 10 December for November days worked.
- • May cycle: First paycheck on 10 June for May days worked.
Buffer Days Note: After orientation week is not one fixed Monday. Buffer days depend on which van you were on, when you move in, when that specific school opens, and your visa run schedule.

What is included in the 13,000 THB orientation fee?
The fee covers your VIP van from Bangkok, 5 hotel nights in Sukhothai (private AC room), meals on training days, a permanent 5G Thai SIM card, the Sukhothai Historical Park sunset tour, Wednesday school teaching practice, and Thursday travel escort to your province with landlord address registration.
When is my first paycheck paid?
Salary is paid on the 10th of each month for days worked in the previous month (pro-rata in month 1). If you start teaching in October, your first pay is 10 November. If you do not teach until November, your first pay is 10 December. In the May cycle, first pay is 10 June.
How does the contract completion hold work?
From around month 2 or 3, 3,000 THB a month is held (up to 15,000 THB total). You can skip a month on request. Finish the contract and the full held amount returns on your final payday with your last salary. Leave early and it covers the broken-contract cost charged to KET.
