Great Places to Visit During October School Holiday in Thailand

Thailand School Break-Great Places to Visit

Kids-English Thailand highly recommends visiting The North of Thailand during the October school holiday.

October happens to be a great month to visit the northern provinces of Thailand. The temperature tends to be more affable; it typically rains less than in the previous months & the surrounding paddy fields are at their most beautiful.

Take a closer look at three Northern Provinces that are great for visiting during the October school break.

Chiang Rai

This is a relaxed, laid-back province with some of Thailand's most beautiful mountainous surroundings. You could visit Tad Kwan Village Park & Waterfall or take the opportunity to visit one of the most bizarre yet insanely beautiful temples you will ever see- The White Temple-Wat Rong Khun, Chiang Rai.

Pai

This is an ideal blend between party & chill; take a trip to Pai. During the day, you could explore the Pai CanyonPai hot springs, or even Mae Yen Waterfall. Once night falls, you can relish in the unique ‘Pai nightlife’ with an array of small bars & restaurants.

Chiang Mai

This is Thailand’s second-largest city; however, it feels more like a village than a large city. The main city section is surrounded by ancient walls and a moat, built around 1296. Within these old walls, you will find Wat Si Don Chai, a temple built over 130 years ago. Numerous delicious restaurants and Chiang Mai Night Bazaar are the perfect places to pick up a souvenir! If it’s the nature you’re seeking, Chaing Mai won’t disappoint! You could visit one of its many waterfalls or venture out to Doi Inthanon National Park to appreciate the spectacular view at the peak of Thailand’s tallest mountain.

If you’re considering visiting one of the suggested locations, or if you’ve already made plans, take a moment and check out this helpful guide on staying safe in Thailand while travelling.
