Thailand Overview

Since 2009, hundreds of enthusiastic Teachers, Instructors, and Mentors have been heading to Thailand to teach English as a second language with Kids English Thailand.

The Land of Smiles is an excellent location for teaching English abroad. In terms of affordability and the fantastic tropical climate, the mouth-watering cuisine perfectly accompanies the ancient temples, the lively party life, and endless possibilities for cheap travel. While many people move to Thailand just as they start their careers or for a short summer program, many people love the Thai way of life and stay for many years.

Thailand's Geography and Climate

Thailand’s warm, tropical climate is hot, rainy, and dry; the monsoon season in the easternmost portion of the region is accompanied by the annual transition from the second to the last seasons.

Thailand is a natural gateway to Southeast Asia, Myanmar, and China. In Thailand, the teaching position enables people to travel and experience all the geographical possibilities Thailand and Southeast Asia offer.

Thailand's beaches have been celebrated; however, Thailand is also home to magnificent mountains in the northern region, vast flatlands on the northeastern plateau, and amazing National parks with breathtaking waterfalls and fantastic wildlife.

The Kingdom is also famous for its rainforests and has some of the most diverse plant life in the world. Thailand is home to many plants, including 120 species of wild orchids. Thailand is also home to various animals, some of which can be dangerous to humans.

More than 300 species of birds have been identified in Thailand, and the animal most commonly found in Thai culture is the elephant. More than 1,150 species of birds have been placed in Thailand's forests.

One hundred twenty-three species of mammals live within the country's borders.

Thailand is home to many native mammals, including the barking deer, binturong, civet cats, genet cats, fishing cats, leopards, and Malayan colugo.

The Malayan tiger was believed to have been exterminated from Thailand in the 1960s. However, a population has since been reintroduced into a nature reserve in the country's northeast. The Laotian rock rat is endemic to Thailand.

Camp Counselor Thailand Role

Your role will be to put your creativity and eagerness into making English learning fun. You will have the opportunity to spend time at English camps held across Thailand.

Summer Camp Instructors should be friendly, cheerful, flexible, and energetic.

You must also be industrious, compliant with the culture, and adaptive.

Thailand's nickname is 'The Land of Smiles,' you will be inspired to wear a huge grin when interacting with Thai students!

Thai people are exceptionally gracious and live in a non-aggressive Buddhist Culture.

Immerse yourself for three weeks in "Real Thailand" and learn the Thai Language, how to make Thai cuisine, visit various Provinces across Thailand, and go on excursions to 'Unseen Places' that typical tourists never get to see!

Camp Counselor Thailand Program Overview

As a Summer Language Camp Instructor in Thailand, teaching English via Fun English camps will give Thai Students a chance to learn a critical skill they can use to better their lives in the 21st century.

Participating in the Summer Language Camp Instructor in Thailand Program is not only incredibly gratifying, but it's also a whole lot of joy.

Kids English Thailand's Academic Exchange Program via English camps delivers English language education to underprivileged youth in Thailand.

This permits them to learn a vital skill they can use to enhance their lives.

The camps primarily take place in Thai Public schools. Students are exposed to active learning activities that make learning more fun, creating a higher chance of retention and understanding.

During the camp days, you will experience many innovative activities with the children using fun and lively songs and energetic dances.

You will also play various sporting games, entertaining games, and Ice-Breaking Group Activities.

Camp Counselor Thailand Program Fee

The program fee is USD 1,500

What's Included in the fee?

The fee you pay to participate in the Summer Language Camp Instructor in Thailand covers the following:

Pre-Departure Support
Airport Pick up & 1-night hotel in Bangkok and Travel to our HQ.
A Thai sim card.
A Five-Day Orientation Program.
Lunch & refreshments during Orientation days
A traditional Thai Dinner/Party at the end of the Orientation Program with the KET Thai Team
Traditional Thai Teak Wood houses for the main accommodation
Instructors will be placed with other Instructors of the same gender.
Instructors are required to pay for their own electricity and water usage.
Instructors are provided transportation, accommodation, and meals when traveling and conducting camps in multiple provinces across Thailand.
Instructors will have the prospect of helping underprivileged Thai youth learn the essential skill of speaking English.

A Five Day Orientation Program in the beautiful province of Sukhothai that introduces you to Thai Culture, the Thai Language & the Thai School environment, lesson planning for English camps, and student management techniques.

Camp Counselor Thailand Program Requirements

English Language Ability

Must be native English speakers or non-native English speakers from European Countries with a high English Proficiency Level.

Age

Applicants must be between 18 and 50 years old.

Financial Security

Must have sufficient funds to pay for the program and the related fees and costs.

Education

Must be able to communicate competently in English

Commitment length

Three weeks/20 days.

What will Camp Counselors do each day?

Instructors can arrive 2-3 days earlier in Bangkok and spend some time traveling and experiencing the bustling metropolis of Thailand's Capital City.
Next, transport is organized for Instructors to get to KET's Headquarters
Check into KET Accommodation and complete some paperwork
Participate in a Five Day Orientation Program
Instructors will travel to various schools throughout Thailand and facilitate English camps for underprivileged children.

Medical Requirements

Instructors must be healthy & active people with sound mental health.

Camp Counselor Responsibility

Camp Counselors guarantee the safety of Thai students as they participate in camp activities.
Also, Camp Counselors are responsible for the activity planning process with guidance from the KET Team.
Counselors must be passionate about conducting, aiding, and encouraging students as they participate in the English Camps.
Camp Counselors will help outline and lead group activities, oversee students and react to incidents like accidents.
Counselors must be optimistic, upbeat, and kind while providing students with a delightful and secure camp experience.
To flourish as a Camp Counselor, you should be well-organized and have considerable leadership skills.

Functioning with other camp staff members to prepare and coordinate camp activities.
Conducting and helping students as they partake in camp activities.
Observe students to guarantee adherence to camp rules and avert accidents.
Cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring camp facilities and supplies are correctly used.
Documenting and registering incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to KET Staff.
Participating in planning meetings.
