Thailand Non Immigrant B Visa & Thai Embassies
Thailand Non Immigrant B Visa
All foreigners applying for a visa to teach in Thailand must obtain a Non-immigrant B (Non-B) Visa.
In most Thai Embassies around the world, the individual must be in their home country when applying for the Non-B Visa or at a Thai Embassy/Consulate in a neighbouring country to Thailand.
Also, it states that an individual’s Passport must be valid for no less than six months and must have at least one blank page left in the passport.
However, travelling abroad with only one page left in a passport is not advised, and at least three-five pages are recommended as there is a need to have pages empty for entry stamps and visa extensions, etc.
An important thing to consider when applying is the duration of the validity of the Non-B Visa. When the visa sticker is physically put in your passport, it has a valid period of 90 days to enter Thailand.
Upon entering Thailand, the visa is activated, and 90 days of entry is granted. Also, it’s important to note that some Thai Embassies worldwide are asking for a recent bank statement covering the past six months.
Also, some Thai Embassies worldwide require your degree and Notarized/Authenticated. The guidelines on the Thai Embassy website for your country should be easy to follow.
Procedure to Apply for a Thai Non-B Visa for Teachers Employed by Kids-English
Find out the name and address of the Thai Embassy in your country or neighbouring country that is processing visas.
Begin to read and follow the guidelines on the embassy website.
Contact your Thai Embassy and ask if physical copies of the paperwork are necessary and ask them the projected time duration to process your visa.
Also, ask them if they expect the Non-B application to be made in person or if they allow it to be processed online via an E-visa application + via mail/courier. This is different across the world.
Inform Kids-English via email of the information you have gathered from correspondence with the Thai Embassy, as well as the Name and Address of the embassy.
Then send your degree, transcripts, passport, and photo to Kids-English following the guidelines in the email correspondence between you and Kids English Staff.
Kids-English, alongside the Placement School, will then submit all your documents plus other relevant documents to all applicable Thai Government Departments, requesting them to issue the paperwork needed to process a Non-Immigrant B visa.
Upon receipt of the documents from the Thai Government Departments, Kids-English will email you all the documents so that you can apply for your Non-Immigrant B Visa.
If the embassy requests physical copies, then Kids-English will send via mail/courier the documents to you.
Once you have determined the procedure for applying for the visa and received the necessary documents from Kids-English, follow the process and submit the documents and your passport.
Remember to check the embassy’s website and call the embassy to see if you need any other documents that haven’t been listed above. Opening a clear line of communication, carefully reading the website, or signing up to follow the online system with the Thai Embassy is essential to obtaining your Non-Immigrant B Visa.
Also, remember to follow the instructions from your representative at Kids-English and always reach out for support and advice throughout the Non-Immigrant B Visa Procedure.
