  • In addition to regular teaching, teachers in Thailand often have extra responsibilities that vary by school. Examples include:

    • English Camps: Teachers may organize activities to promote language learning and cultural exchange through interactive games and workshops.

    • Extracurricular Clubs: Teachers might lead or assist with clubs such as sports, language, or music, helping students explore their interests.

    • Gate Duty: Some schools assign teachers to monitor entrances and exits for student safety during arrival and dismissal.

    • Morning Assembly: Teachers often participate in morning assemblies for announcements and national anthem recitals.

    • Teaching/Training Thai Teachers: Experienced foreign teachers may mentor local teachers, offer training workshops, or collaborate on curriculum development.

  • To ensure a smooth transition to Thailand, it is advisable for every teacher to arrive with at least USD 1,800. This amount is intended to cover essential expenses for the first month, including accommodation, food, transportation, and other necessities. It is important to keep in mind that this minimum does not account for flight costs, the KET Orientation Program, or hotel stays, which will incur additional expenses. The USD 1,800 serves as a general guideline to assist teachers in financially preparing for their initial settlement in Thailand.

  • According to Thai law, a medical examination is required to obtain a work permit in Thailand. Typically, this examination is conducted in Thailand.

    The medical check ensures that you meet the health standards established by Thai authorities.

    KET will provide guidance and support during the process of securing your visa and work permit.

    You can work in Thailand as long as your medical check is clear of Syphilis, Elephantiasis, drug addiction, alcoholism, and tuberculosis.
