Understanding Apartments in Thailand
A teaching job with Kids English Thailand assists in securing accommodation.
The rent can range between 3,000-6,000 baht depending on the accommodation type and location. Typically in Thailand, apartments expect people moving in to pay one month's rent in advance and one month's rent as a deposit.
Utilities are very inexpensive! Electric and water bills will vary depending on individual usage, but the average price is between 1,000-2,000 baht per month.
Most accommodation is within 5-15 minutes of walking distance from the school. However, some schools are not within walking distance and require you to use public transportation or ride a bicycle.
Some teachers opt for renting a scooter/motorbike; however, you must ensure that you have the correct license before driving on the roads in Thailand.
Accommodation varies depending on the region, city, and town; sometimes, it can be a house or an apartment; however, KET always ensures that teachers have the basics to be comfortable.
Here's what to expect in a Thai Apartment
At least 30+ Square Meters in size
Always with an en-suite bathroom with a western-style toilet and, 99% of the time, a warm water shower.
Sometimes a balcony.
Furniture- a queen/double/king bed, small table/desk, wardrobe, etc.
Nearly always a fridge.
Sometimes there is a TV.
Always an air-conditioning unit.
Always WIFI.
